We are here in this month of March, the month that is bringing us Spring and those Spring vibes. Even though it’s always important to honor nature and each season has a time, place, offering, and lesson, I am SO glad this month we welcome the season of Spring. Can I get a whoo hoo?! The seasons of fall and winter when we welcome in more yin energy and darkness are always so hard for me, maybe it’s all of that stillness when I’d rather be running around, instead we are coming back to self and taking time to reflect, turn internal, and just be.
Spring Equinox officially cements that the solar (sun and masculine) energy is here, and we welcome in a time when we can be more active. This is also the official start to spring! This is the time of the Wood Element in Chinese Medicine represented by the color green. You might have been hearing lately how people are talking about the liver and doing liver cleanses. The liver is the organ system represented by the Wood element which rules and regulates the emotions of anger and frustration. Have you been a little frustrated lately with where you are in life, where you are going, and how slow things feel like they have been moving?
The liver acts as a filter for our whole body and conducts about 300+ tasks. As someone who has been hyper-focused on the liver and liver health for the past 2 years, especially after working through leaky gut, it’s a very important organ. Don’t forget to send it some love and gratitude, our body is always listening! You can support the liver by eating dandelion greens, dark leafy greens, and integrating milk thistle. My Reiki Infused extra virgin olive oil is also very supportive to the liver too!
Spring represents when we start welcoming more hope, rebirth, and joy. If you have felt more vulnerable, hopeless, lethargic, and stuck or stagnant. Grab on and harness all that Spring stands for! Spring is not only represented by the color green, but also by the color yellow too. The color yellow is associated with joy and happiness. I invite you to wear these colors to honor this time of year and all that Spring represents.
